Shifting Gears ~ 7 Jul 2014

While some await the change of signs of Mars into Scorpio on the 26th, others anticipate Jupiter’s jump into Leo on the 16th. Such looking ahead makes sense given Mars has been in leisurely Libra lingering with overly loquacious action-delaying narratives for what may feel like forever. It also makes sense that there are those ready to go peacock on the world as soon as Jupiter makes his ingress into Leo and leaves behind the waters of Cancer. Certainly there are always transits to anticipate... and hopefully with positive anticipation.

But first... before we push Jupiter’s pompous rump into Leo for even more bombastic behavior, we have next week’s lingering conjunction of Ceres, Mars, North Node and Vesta all in Libra and all opposing Eris in Aries. Yes, this is a planetary post-it note of previous SkyScrapings. But it is important and here is how it shakes out: If you do not want to feel left behind, excluded, shunned, shut out or banned (Eris), it’s time for you to stoke the fires on your inner talents and passions (Vesta). Know that the application of these God-given gifts fulfills inner restlessness, and while you’re not looking, turns smack dab, centerline compass point on the destiny north of your life (Moon’s North Node). All you have to do to shift the winds of frustration to stretch out your banner in the direction of fulfillment, be the ultimate, energetic, moral high-ground advocate for yourself (Ceres).

As we get into the early days of next week, that’s the focus... right upon the precipice of Jupiter’s shift. If you go all uber-confident prior to Jupiter’s sign change, it could come off... you know...

Part of the issue with going uber-confident is that if there’s nothing to back it up, the rush of hot air from ones statements of ponder-worthy brilliance lack substance. And there’s where the next trend change comes into play.

In two weeks, Uranus in Aries stations, moving retrograde. The day before, Saturn in Scorpio stations, then advances prograde once again. These two planet reversals imply the need for a dynamical shift in method.

With Uranus in Aries direct and Saturn retro in Scorpio, often one leaps at opportunity and then once in the fray, steps back to figure out that they might be in a bit over their head. This is not a bad thing; it’s the way these two solar system adjacent, father-son dynamic combo of planets work. It does require backtracking, scrambling, frequent shifting of priorities, balancing of the workload, and oh yeah, delegation to those most competent with the time to pick up tasks lagging on the completion flow chart.

On a basic level, this would be exemplified by jumping all over a post for a contract or job on the Internet. Then, halfway through the application, the applicant realizes the resume must be rewritten and uploaded, a new profile picture taken (for God’s sake, not a selfie... this is a professional application) and maybe even that incomplete correspondence course should be finished post haste.

But this methodology all changes in a fortnight. Get ready to be ready first. Do your background work. Google all relevant considerations and follow the trail of vetted, reliable information sources. This is Saturn direct, mind you. No fair going to a forum and asking a question like: Who knows where I can get a copy of Rudhyar’s Astrology of Personality (I’m not asking; I have both hardbound and paperback copies). Google it yourself. “For Pete’s sake,” asks Saturn, “How much time does that take?” This is a DIY era.

Do it yourself. A thing about Saturn to keep in mind, if you do not demonstrate competence, self-reliance, self-starting qualities, he’ll not sign your recommendation that you want to hand to Uranus for the open position in the next upgraded strata of life. There’s a curious thing about characters in movies. Regardless of their intrinsic like-ability, if the character is highly skilled, good with the hands and able to manufacture what is required to advance by herself/himself, the character’s stock rises in the perception of the viewer.

Now the trend calls for an able-bodied Earthling to dot i’s, cross t’s, line up ducks, aim for the highest star, conduct your pre-launch check list with penetrating Scorpionic vision, and then jump. If one leaps first and demonstrates a lack of capability after the fact, or personifies the Peter Principle with uncanny precision, there will be changes made... rather immediately, and likely changes that do not favor impetuous sorts.

This is not a time for impulsive pursuit of grand opportunities. This is the time for prepared pursuits before heading toward game-changing, life-altering planetary promises. Be prepared. Have stuff to strut. If your stuff is strut-able, guess what? When Jupiter shifts signs and you proclaim what you have in your hot little hand, or stuffed in your hip pocket, or ready to upload from your favorite electronic device, it resonates as solid when stated.

Solid people advance. Those with grounding and preparation behind them get to move ahead on life’s game board.

Yes, the coincident stations and direction changes of Saturn and Uranus represent a collective mindset shift. Initially, it locks in with the decision makers. More scrutiny and caution filter their perceptions than has been the case over the last months. Those going uber-Jupiter inflict sharper scrutiny upon their proclamations. And you know, really it comes back to the next shift in the upcoming trends. Can you apply next week’s “get behind yourself, stoke your inner fire, find your creative attributes and without reservation, represent yourself and your wares clearly?” pattern conjured by Mars, Ceres, Vesta, Eris and the Node.

One more thing: When the shift comes and the job is offered, or the contract is to be signed, you will step forward without hesitation, right? If not, get your clutch in, and grab your gearshift.

More soon.
